সৈয়দ ইসমাইল হোসেন সিরাজী


One of the pioneers of the revitalization of Muslim education, Syed Ismail Hossain Siraji was born on July 30, 1880. He not only encouraged education but was also vocal for Hindu-Muslim unity. His writings promoted secular thought and eradicated communal sectarianism. His notable journals are ‘Al-Eslam’, ‘Islam Pracharak’, ‘Kohinoor’, ‘Saogat’, ‘Nabajug’, etc. He was also a great poet and his verses shows his proficiency in structuring the thought in a comprehensive manner. Some of his renowned verses are ‘Anal Prabha’, ‘Premanjali’, ‘Udbodhan’, ‘Uchchhas’, ‘Spain Bijoy Kabya’, ‘Tara Bai’, ‘Feroza Begum, and ‘Nooruddin’. He died on July 17, 1931. His contribution in awakening the society through his literature makes him immortal.
